 以前、掲示板でこのようなコピペを見ました

“So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause.”
「自由はこうやって死んでゆくのね。満場の拍手と共に。」

意味が気になり検索したのですが、どんな方法で検索しても全文の意味がわかりません
雰囲気的には名言・格言っぽい気がするのですが、詳細を知っていたら
